Setting Slide Transitions

To set slide transitions

Place your insertion point in the section to set slide timing.
From the Tools menu, choose Section Timing.
The Media Properties dialog box is displayed with the Timing tab selected.

All of the slides in the section are listed in the Slides in this Section box.
Click .
The media starts to play in the Audio/Video Clip box and the first slide of the section is displayed in the Current Slide box.
When you want to transition to the next slide, click Next.

Each time you click Next to change slides, the new slide is stamped with a transition time equal to the elapsed time of the media. This enables Alive e-Show to transition to the correct slide when the media reaches the specified elapsed time. The transition-time stamp for each slide is displayed in the Slides in this Section box of the Timing page and to the left of each slide title in outline mode.

If you find that a slide does not transition smoothly, you can adjust the timing for that slide using the Slide Time dialog box. This dialog box enables you to adjust the time at which a slide transitions. To display the Slide Time dialog box, in the Slides in this Section box, double-click the slide whose timing you want to adjust.

Note

When you insert a slide into a section that already has slide transition time-stamps, the new slide will be given the same time stamp as the following slide. If your new slide is the last slide of a section, it will be given a time stamp equal to the length of your media. You can then use the Slide Time dialog box to set a slideÆs transition time or you can record new media for that slide and have Alive e-Show merge it with the existing media clip.

Tip

You can set slide transition times while recording your media clip by clicking Next.
To replay your e-show viewing the slide changes, click .
If only one slide exists in your section, it is unnecessary to set transition times for the section.
